Frequently Asked Questions
Geomembrane liners are widely utilized in environmental containment, civil earthworks, landfill base liners, tailing ponds, irrigation reservoirs, artificial lakes, and aquaculture ponds to prevent liquid permeation and environmental contamination.
A coarse textured surface increases the interface friction angle between the liner and adjacent soils or geotextiles. This significantly improves slope stability in steep retaining walls, landfills, and dam embankments by reducing slippage risks.
HDPE provides the highest chemical resistance and structural rigidity, ideal for exposed applications and waste containment. LDPE and LLDPE provide superior flexibility and elongation for uneven terrain, while EVA offers high elasticity and stress-crack resistance for tunneling and delicate containment projects.
Double-color geomembranes (often black and white/green) allow easier optical detection of surface punctures or tears during installation, reflect sunlight to reduce thermal expansion wrinkles, and offer better visual harmony with natural project surroundings.
Panels are joined using thermal fusion dual-track wedge welding for long continuous seams, creating an internal air channel for non-destructive pressure testing. Extrusion welding is utilized for patch repairs, detail work, and penetrations around pipe boots.
Premium geomembranes are formulated with high-grade carbon black and thermal stabilizers/antioxidants (OIT). This formulation prevents premature photo-oxidation, resists extreme temperature fluctuations, and ensures service lifetimes often exceeding 30 to 50 years under buried or exposed conditions.
